DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw

The DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw ranks in the superior range. As with all DeWalt products we've purchased/tried, this saw`s construction is rugged & overbuilt in all aspects. This saw is one of the main workhorses in my shop and I use it almost everyday. The quality and accuracy of the cuts produced are great and the saw seems to have plenty of power. This is a serious miter saw for serious work.

DEWALT DWS780 12-in Dual BevelSliding Compound Miter Saw XPS SYSTEM
The XPS System is actually something that seemed like a bit of a gimmick when i initially bought it but it's now one of my favorite features. This system is the most accurate i have ever seen and really shows you exactly where the blade will cut as well as the exact thickness of the material it will remove. It does work a lot better indoors but the light is bright enough that the shadow can still be seen when used outside.
  • Integrated XPS cross cut positioning system provides adjustment-free cut line indication
  • Powerful 15 amp, 3,800 rpm motor delivers extended power and durability
  • Exclusive Back Fence design cuts up to 2 by 16 dimensional lumber at 90-degrees, 2 by 12 at 45 degrees
  • Adjustable stainless steel miter detent plate with 10 positive stops improves productivity, ensures accuracy
  • Super efficient dust collection system captures over 75-percent of dust generated
The DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw, has been designed to be precise and accurate enough for fine woodworking, yet durable enough for framing and deck building. Useful DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw Specifications:

  • Highly efficient dust collection system captures over 75-percent of dust generated.
It is great being able to cut large posts without having to flip them over to finish the cut on the other side of the work. The other really outstanding feature of this saw is the sliding action which enables the user to cut wide, flat boards in a single, fluid motion. Without the sliding action, the user must flip over the work and attempt to line up the saw to finish the cut. Adjustments are easy and smooth, and the preset angles are precise.

I love this DEWALT DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw! Is it as good as a Festool Kapex?  No. But it is close and you can find it for about one third the price of the Festool Kapex. In short, the Dewalt DWS780 is a topnotch saw for professionals and homeowners alike.

The stop adjustment works well. The bevel release is nice, as is the 0-degree recentering stop. Oh, and the XPS positioning LED is AWESOME. Get this... it shines a light downward on the blade from the front of the shield, and the shadow of the blade, and teeth, is how you know where it will cut. So simple, and accurate.
